May 24-25 WOMENS’s Swiftwater Rescue Training
Co Taught by Karyna Todd and Jordan Taylor
$250. Potomac River near DC. Never taken rescue? Or it’s been a while and you want to review fundamentals?
This course is intended for women and gender-expansive individuals only. Our purpose is adjust the curriculum and training environment enhance skill development as well as leadership and decision-making in rescue for women.

Canoe Cruisers Association CANOE CLINIC
June 9. Solo or Tandem. Potomac River near DC. $100
This is an all-day clinic for CCA Solo Canoeists comfortable in Class 2-3 rivers. The course will include moving water maneuvers, paddling techniques and mechanics, ranges of motion, body positioning, paddle placement, propulsion and turning.
The course is limited to 6 participants with pre-registration required. The cost is $100 dollars.

ADVANCED Kayak Clinic and ACA Level 5 Skills Assessment
July 13-14. Lower and Upper Youghiogheny. $400
Boofing, Outside edge engagement, blending strokes and linking maneuvers, complex attainments. Depending on abilities we may move to the Upper Yough for its Monday release.
Pre-requisites
July 13: reliable roll in Class 3.
July 14: Consistency in hard Class 3-3+, Reliable roll in Class 3-3+, 16 hours or more SWR training.

LOWER YOUGH Open Canoe SKills
Lower Yough Open Canoe Skills Course with Jordan Taylor
August 18, Lower Yough. $100
Canoe Cruisers Association, in collaboration with Calleva and Paddlesports Institute is offering an OC1 Lower Yough clinic on Monday, August 18th with canoe instructor, Jordan Taylor. This is an all-day clinic for CCA OC1ers comfortable in Class 3 rivers. The course will include moving water maneuvers, paddling techniques and mechanics, ranges of motion, body positioning, paddle placement, propulsion and turning.

Lower Yough ADVANCED Kayak Skills
August 22, Lower Yough, $100
Canoe Cruisers Association in collaboration with Calleva and Paddlesports Institute has commissioned Jordan Taylor to lead an Advanced Whitewater Skills course for Kayakers who are comfortable running the Lower Yough or similar Class 3 rivers. This is an all-day session for CCA members who are interested in practicing more technical and challenging lines on the Lower Yough. A reliable roll and the ability to aggressively rescue is required.

L5 ADVANCED KAYAK INSTRUCTOR Certification Workshop
August 23-25 Lower and Upper Yough
$525 plus ACA Membership.
This one goes to 11…(Spinal Tap reference). Ever wanted to instruct beyond class 3? Need to update an existing cert AND like boating the Yough? Wondered how to take your instruction and coaching toward transformative outcomes?
L5 Upgrade, L5 Update, L4 Update
Prerequisites:
Prior ACA L4 Instructor including teaching and reporting two L4 courses.
16 hours SWR training.

L3-4 SWIFTWATER RESCUE INSTRUCTOR Certification Program
August 30, 31 September 1, November 8, 9, 10 plus shadow 2 days of Jordan’s SWR Instruction. (8 days total)
$850 plus ACA Membership.

Help train boaters to “win it’ even on a really hard river day when the vibe turns scary. Bring needed skills and strategies to your boating crew or home river community.
Prerequisites: minimum 16 hours prior swiftwater training. Class 2 boating skills. ACA Membership.

Rescue Leadership: Rapid Response!
October 4, $200
Potomac River MD
‘Winning it” when the boating vibe turns from fun to scary most often comes from quick decision making and basic skills done well. Come practice both. Jordan Taylor offers an incisive decision making framework. This scenario driven one day class will give you repeated application of your swiftwater skills and level up your rapid response.
This course would be especially effective if your whole crew signed up.
Prequisite: prior swiftwater rescue training

LGBTQ+ Affinity Kayak Instructor Certification Workshop

Partial travel reimbursement available upon completion of the course in good standing.
We are so excited to build an affinity space within the whitewater industry specifically for LGBTQ+ paddlers to develop and certify as instructors!
With LGBTQ+ peers and Instructor Trainer(s) learn and/or develop your skills in kayaking, teaching & coaching, group management and rescue and how to offer your own classes with support form the ACA!
