The Yampa is one the Colorado River’s only free-flowing tributary, carving through dramatic desert canyons with towering 1,000 ft sandstone walls into Dinosaur National Monument to meet the Green River. The river runs 71 miles from Deerlodge Park to Split Mountain with class II–III whitewater running next to 1,000 ft sandstone cliffs.
