Instructor Development
Paddlesport Institute's instructor development programs are built for paddlers who are ready to give back to the community that shaped them. Our courses emphasize not just technical mastery, but effective teaching — how to read your students, adapt on the fly, and create learning environments where people feel safe enough to grow.
You'll receive expert coaching in instructional techniques, group management, risk assessment, and skills evaluation — all grounded in a philosophy of compassionate, inclusive leadership.

Instructor development and certification will be modeled on ACA standards, and will also draw on extensive experience training faculty in the river program at the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS). Expect to be supported and challenged in: boating skills, teaching/coaching skills, technical knowledge of paddlesports, and risk management/rescue.
